Even though it tastes nice, it makes you fat and spotty.
They should make healthy McDonalds, they could make a fortune.

i agree with what you said about the fast food industry being too expensive and making you fat and spotty, but i think that many other foods we eat are unhealthy too, not just a tplaces lik emcdonalds. Mcdonalds isn't good for you all the time but every once in a while i don't see the problem with it .

although i never usually approve to things like this (i sound like the queen, but hey) i do actually love fast food. i mean delicious, quick (sometimes) and cheap, but NOT value for money, but i think that is because McDo use the biggets brand name of each item (e.g Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Danone, Cadburys in england), so it should be kind of expensive anyway, rite?
but, unfortunately, there are always the negatives, fatty, greasy and after you eat one, u always regret it, right?

Is that why you have been to McDonalds for the past FIVE days Sam? Just wait 'til your body turns into a big fat blob of poo.
Doesn't seem like this is regret to me Sam

About fast food, I generally try to avoid fast food places, and I haven't eaten at MacDonalds in a long time (and generally don't support it). If I am eating the same type of food, I will try to go to locally-owned businesses, which generally have larger portions and better food.
That said, I am not above having the occasional Subway sandwich, Tim Hortons (only in Canada) donuts or Wendy's burger. I just try to eat it rarely.
So in summary, this is my opinion:
(1) benefits: cheap, tastes good, popular food
(2) downsides: leads to impulse purchases, not supporting local economy, and bad for health, as well as drains money out of pockets.
This view is not altogether different from my sociological view of fast food as an industry (i.e. how it fits into society). I may explain that in a later post.

I think the really bad thing about fast food is when children eat it as their main food source. Many being small children, they most often don't protest to their parents about eating at McDonalds every day because they like the food. I read a statistic a while ago that stated 1/3 american children eat one or more fast food meals a day. This leads to obesity and ultimatly health problems.
Fast food is OK in moderation, but too much is a bad thing.

It's not only about how bad the food is for you though; it seems to me as though it's bad for humanity. I havn't looked into it that much, but I've read some stuff about how McDonald's gets their food, and it's atrocious. They cut down rainforests and ruin other precious land to raise cheap beef. They raise their chickens in miniscule cages (the smaller, the cheaper) until they can be slaughtered. There's a reason McDonald's can sell their food cheaply- because they've sacrificed our environment and our morals. Personally, I choose not to eat at McDonalds (I know I'm picking on McDonalds here, but it really could be any large fast food chain), because I feel as though I'm literally feeding into the loss of morals our culture is experiencing.

Hi, I think fast foods are nice to eat but only if you have them every now and then. I think it is horrible what they do to the chickens.

Well, in the extra features of Super Size Me they show what happens if you leave regular french fries sitting at room temperature vs. McDonald's French fries. after 10 weeks, the regular french fries were incredably moldy, and not recognisable as you would expect. The McDonald french fries looked like they were just bought that day.
What is IN this food? (do we want to know?)

If you look at the healthy menus, they're actually not really very good for you. I just took a look and the Wendy's BLT salad is 700 calories. I don't think of this as a light lunch.
