I do believe in ghosts, but not in the white ones that scare people off, but in the spirit of dead people looking over the ones they love and care for. Not manyu people belive in them, i don't blame them for they have neaver seen them, so we have no proof they exsiste, but i think that they shoult be seen.

I have never seen a ghost either but i believe in them. My mother grew up in a haunted house, her mother saw a 'nun' walking around the garden one day. Supposedly, the nun used to live there about 50 years before her and she hang herself in the living room, which was always freezing cold whenver my mother and her parents and brothers ate there.
I believe this to be true, i can't explain it any other way. I do hope that one day i will see a ghost, so i can therefore have proof for the actual fact that ghost do exist.
Ben, i don't want to try and persuade you to believe in them; i completely understand if you don't and you choose not to because you've never seen them before. But maybe, hopefully one day you will see one and believe them. I have no doubt in my mind that they do exist.

I am not sure whether to believe in ghosts or not, i have read and watched things about people seeing strange things, like doors shutting strange mists and plenty of other strange unexplained misteries.
Ghosts may exist, the fact that there is no proof that they exist isn't a good enough reason not to believe because there is no proof that they do not exist.
People say ghosts are people's spirits that live on. Plato belived evryone had a soul so maybe the ghosts are the souls of the dead moving around in the real world. Using the real objects that belong to the shadows we see.

I believe in ghosts, even though I can’t see them. Just like the fact I believe in God even though I can’t see Him either.
People have superstitions...its kind of like a habit. You start to believe in something and it just kind of sticks. Even though these people don’t know exactly if these superstitions work they still go through their lives according to them and using them.
There is no proof that these work and also no proof of ghosts. But people still do it anyway. Some people’s brains just adapt to things more easily than others.

ok for one, spirits and things like that were made up by the church. its all part of there conspiracy, so they made up christ and his amazing healing powers and god and stuff to scare the peasents and people so then they have complete power over them, i mean its not just thel scaring them theres a hole bunch of other reasons too but yeah back to the subject, the story that they made about the the rebirth of christ made them believe in spirits, i mean there are a hole load of things that if you say to some one they are going to believe you and in the case of the peasents they were dumb and had no education and there was lots of death so they probabely believed it to comfort them selfs. but there is no way in this world that ghost could actually excist. i know that people say they have seen them and stuff and heard things and seen things move that seem to be unexplainable and things but actually they just cant figure out what happened so they blame it on some thing they cant explain thats what most people do anyway.

I agree with your basic argument Beth. In the middle ages the church had a total dictatorship driven by fear over the world. Another thing that makes heaven, hell and many other of the church's teachings are made up is that they ideas from Plato!!!! Who says other ideas have been stolen from others.
